One of the most important principles of Tat, as a producer blending health and taste in its products, is to produce in accordance with the quality and hygiene standards. Tat produces in compliance with the Turkish Food Codex and the Turkish Standards in all its factories. For export, on the other hand, specifications of the foreign firms are taken into account. Quality and reliability of Tat are proven by the international certificates obtained by the company. Tat has "Japanese Agriculture Standard" certificate laying down the Japanese standards and also has TS EN ISO 9001-2008 quality management system in place in all its enterprises.
A brand sensitive to environment: Tat
Being the leading industrial entity in agriculture, Tat considers it important to protect the environment as well as to contribute to the development of agriculture in its own field of business. Technologies and innovations, which ensure production without environmental hazard, are introduced in all plants. Since the raw materials used are of agricultural origin, they do not have the characteristics of a waste or a pollutant. Still, Tat provides training to around 10.000 farmers with whom it has contracts and their families on the environment and the use of fertilizers and agricultural chemicals. In order to reduce the air pollution, on the other hand, all our plants have been converted to natural gas; and greenhouse gas emissions are calculated annually, with actions taken to reduce them.
Having set up the Sandom (Developing Industrial Tomato) project jointly with Aegean University, Tat has been serving to the tomato agriculture with 60 researchers for 10 years. The biological waste water plant within the boundaries of the Tat Mustafakemalpaşa Plant is the largest one owned by the private sector in the region. Our plants have marked a first in their region by receiving Environmental authorization in 2011. In the regions where the plants are located, limits of discharge to receiving environment are applied according to the Water Pollution Control Regulation and the discharge standards of the treatment plant are checked by the Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization. The waste water treated in all waste water treatment plants under Tat Gıda is analyzed and controlled in both plant lab and accredited institutional labs.
Since 1997, within the framework of collection and recycling of packaging wastes, packages introduced to the market have been collected and recycled by competent body within the quotas established by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization. Plastic packing quantity is reduced in various productions and the environmentally friendly glass packing is emphasized. The waste management in our factories takes place through storage and disposal of our recyclable wastes and also especially our wastes with considerable environmental impact according to the technical and legal standards.
Researches for increasing the productivity
Industrial innovations involving the machinery and equipment have been followed and adopted by the production plants of Tat. Cropping techniques have been continuously monitored so as to improve the product quality and expand the customer portfolio. Training courses are provided to white collar and blue collar staff each year as part of the efforts to raise the quantity of productive manpower. The team of Tat participates in the activities involving productivity at home and abroad to have knowledge about the developments on the subject matter. By conducting continuous control during and after production and forming quality improvement teams, efforts are exerted to improve the processes in every field and to reduce the production cost. In addition, researches aimed at getting the highest productivity from the agricultural raw materials are conducted every year.
